My Story

I’ve always had a passion for helping people transform their lives.

I started my recruiting firm, Tech Finders, back in 1998 when I was 28. It was May 1, to be exact, the day my first son was born, and my first office (once I got out of the hospital) was the floor of my spare bedroom.

My sons are my inspiration!

We didn’t have a home computer yet, so the phone, phone book, and fax were my tools of the trade. I wish I could say that I had big aspirations to be an entrepreneur, however, my motivation was the fact that I didn’t want to be away from my newborn for 12 hours a day. So I jumped right in with both feet, determined to change the professional lives of as many people as I could… and stay home with my son. In those days, people rarely worked remotely and I would synch business calls with my son’s naps so no one would hear a crying baby in the background. My business cards read “Staffing Consultant” because I didn’t want people to know that they were actually talking to THE owner of Tech Finders. My sole purpose was to keep my little company afloat so that my son had a roof over his head, and so I didn’t have to go back to a “real job.” It was incredibly stressful, but I was determined, and I would not take no for an answer. I sacrificed, I cried, and I even missed Christmas one year, but slowly and surely, I gained more and more clients, and I eventually moved into an office building and I hired staff.

It has been nearly 20 years since that day. Now an adult, my oldest son has moved out and is in college and in a few years, my youngest son will join his older brother in the adult world. What a strange feeling!

Tech Finders is my third child and just like children, we’ve had many ups and downs, including recessions and tearful moments when I wasn’t sure I could keep the lights on.

And I have learned a lot over the years too, especially when it comes to fitness and its impact on not only the body and mind but on business.

Since I got into fitness, my business has grown by 500 percent in five years, and that is why I created The Fit Professional: I want to share what I have learned in business and fitness, and pass it on in anyway that I can!

My fitness and life transformation began shortly after I turned 41. At the time, I felt stagnant, I was working a lot, and I felt like I was on auto-pilot. That’s when I decided to get out of my comfort zone and find a way to challenge myself. Before the transformation, I worked out to maintain my weight and I did a lot of cardio. My trainer at the time must have been psychic because right around that time, he asked me if I wanted to train for a fitness competition. I had never had the desire to do this, nor did I EVER think I had the required discipline, and I never thought that I could look like “those girls,” but, with my desire to grow and his perfectly-timed ask, I was ready to break my comfort level.

Normally would have said, “Hell no!” but this time I said, “Yes!”

What followed was an intense four months of training. I wasn’t thinking to win or even place. My thought was, “Please God, don’t let me quit,” and the night before, I almost did! And after a lot of tears, fright, and coaching, I showed up with a nothing to lose attitude… and guess what? I won!

Over the next five years, I competed in several more competitions and won first place in my age category every single time. That’s when I came up with a new goal to compete at the national level and earn a Pro Card. There were many roadblocks and many, many times that I wanted to quit, but, I didn’t.

I kept going and I kept progressing, and I at the age of 45, I earned my Pro Card.

And as my body changed my business life transformed as well. I learned that I could dream big and do big, and I learned that if I remained consistent and persistent, that I could accomplish anything that I set my mind to. Like I said, I’ve always been passionate about changing people’s lives, and now I am even more excited to help people transform their professional life and their personal life through fitness!

My personal and professional hardships made me stronger, smarter, and more resilient. I now know that mindset, persistence, and the pursuit of being the best you in business and fitness is a game-changing life lesson!

To this day I still learn and grow. And I have an even greater desire to improve myself and to help those around me do the same. That’s why I’ve created The Fit Professional: this is a community, a place to learn, grow, gain confidence, dream and do big, and most importantly, get body-and business-fit.

I can’t wait to get to know you and be part of your journey. As a CEO, single mom, girlfriend, IFBB Pro Bikini Athlete, Coach, and more, I know that if I can do it, then you can do it too… so, without further ado, let’s get this party started!
